The thread about the P990i made me think about the fast evolution in mobile technology and I became nostalgic. This was my first mobile phone. The stunning GA628 with 125 hours talk time, SMS and just 160g weight. What was yours ?
I was one of the early adopters of the P800 a few years ago, then upgraded to the P900 recently. Symbian UIQ is my preferred phone OS and this Sony Ericsson high-end P series had always been my best option for PDAphones. But the P900 was staying behind in hardware specs and functionality. I was even considering changing to a mid-end wonderful K750i. Well no more. Today the P990i was announced and it's specs are awesome. To name a few: decent 2 megapixel camera (they're likely to increase this before launch), UMTS for mobile broadband (comes in handy when all mobile operators in Portugal are launching 3G eat as much as you can flat fees), a macromedia mobile flash client, and the best is Wifi access. The only thing missing to make it perfect is a built-in mobile SIP softphone with audio and video codecs for IP telephony.
